Team South Africa to face legal challenge

A1 Team South Africa is facing a legal challenge by a company that believes it has the rights to provide all catering and merchandising services for the event in Durban later this month.

Global Village Leisure Retail has asked the Johannesburg High Court to interdict and restrain A1 Team South Africa from appointing any third-party supplier to provide services at the Grand Prix at the Durban beachfront, such as food-concession stores, children's play areas, A1 Grand Prix merchandising and all beverages, including alcohol. The case is set down for hearing next week, with the February 25 event looming.
