Vietoris to race in Mexico for German team

19 March 2007

Christian Vietoris will enjoy his race debut for A1 Team Germany in Mexico this weekend. The 17-year-old rookie will replace Nico Hulkenberg as Hulknenberg has commitments for the upcoming Formula 3 season.

Nico Hulkenberg will be back after the Mexican Grand Prix, but until then Vietoris will enjoy his status of the team's race driver. "The two races will be a real challenge," said Vietoris. "In the main race I have to drive at the limit for 70 minutes - I've never driven the car for such a long period. The former Grand Prix circuit is new to all the drivers, which is an advantage for me - this way, nobody has the benefit of being more familiar with this racetrack. I recently watched another race on this circuit on TV in order to get to know the track."
