Great Britian leads the way

Team Great Britain's Robbie Kerr went fastest in the opening practice session for the Shanghai Grand Prix as the team continues its recent run of form. The young Brit set a best time of 1m35.573s, which was a snippet faster than Team New Zealand's fastest courtesy of Jonny Reid, whilst Jean Karl Vernay of France was around a tenth off the pace in third place.

Narain Karthikeyan of Team India, Jonathan Summerton of Team USA, and championship leader Team Germany driven by Nico Hulkenberg, made up the top six respectively. Meanwhile Renger van der Zande looks to have got the hang of things making his full debut for Team Netherlands this weekend as he went a decent eighth quickest. Ex-Minardi F1 driver Alex Yoong took his Team Malaysia car ninth fastest whilst Team China's Congfu Cheng ended up fifteenth in front of his home crowd. Most drivers completed around 20 laps, except for Team Lebanon's Allam Khodair who only managed to come out for an installation lap.
