Team Great Britain principal John Surtees has hailed Robbie Kerr's performance in qualifying saying that he drove out of his skin to take the team to a new level. Following speculation that Kerr might be dropped after Oliver Jarvis scored the team its first win at last round's race in Mexico, the former Grand Prix driver has said that Kerr's pole has lifted the team's spirits.
"Following the successes of Mexico, we reached new heights today with the team's first pole in qualifying this season," Surtees said.
"Robbie really excelled himself, holding onto fourth to start and eventually coming together with the car after some adjustments were made to put in a really outstanding lap in the final session. It was a really positive piece of driving and lifted the whole team who were really excited by the whole performance."
