A1 Team Malaysia began the final weekend of A1GP racing in Brands Hatch, Kent today, with a seventh fastest lap time for Alex Yoong this afternoon. Yoong has raced on the circuit during his early years of racing and returned here for the first A1GP event two years ago. He enjoys its challenges and was pleased with the team's performance in this opening day of A1GP competition.
Yoong reviewed his practice session saying, "A good first day for us. We worked
through our programme, slowly chiselling our way at it, although there's more time to find. I don't think we're far away from being where we want to be, but we'd have to find quite a lot of time if we were to beat the British team, as they are looking very quick, perhaps with the home team advantage. I love the circuit and have run on it quite a bit, although only once on the Grand Prix circuit."
