India's car turns sky blue

29 August 2007

A1 Team India unveiled a bold new livery at today's official A1GP test at Silverstone today. Switching from a design based around its orange, white and green flag, India has moved to a paint-scheme using the countries sporting colour - sky blue.

The nations other sporting teams - most notably cricket - play in this colour and the team has adopted this concept for its A1GP car.

India is not the only A1GP nation to use its sporting colours for its design - A1 Teams Australia, Italy, Netherlands and New Zealand also use their sporting colours rather than a design based around the colours of their flag.

Narain Karthikeyan will race the new car this season, after he was earlier confirmed in the team's plans for 2007/08.
