Bleekemolen wants to treat the Netherlands to victory
27 September 2007After a fourth place finish in the inaugural A1GP at Zandvoort last year A1 Team Netherlands is settling for nothing less than victory during their home race on the seaside track. A bold goal perhaps, but certainly not out of reach considering the current strength of A1 Team Netherlands.

During the sell out premiere last year A1 Team Netherlands led the race for a long time, but had to settle for a spot just outside the podium. Already then Jeroen Bleekemolen showed that with an A1GP car at Zandvoort, at that time without any preparation, he was clearly amongst the favorites. This year Bleekemolen, together with Rookie and reserve driver Arie Luyendyk jr. and the rest of the team has prepared himself very well for the third A1GP season. During the pre season tests at Silverstone A1 Team Netherlands showed it's pace.
Jeroen Bleekemolen did receive so many enthusiastic encouragements over the past weeks that he wants nothing less than showing his gratitude with a nice victory; "We are back at Zandvoort again with A1GP. I've got awesome memories from last year as it looked like Queens Day. Everyone was wearing orange and going wild. I hope that we will have the same atmosphere along the track this time. On track we will have to try and do the thing we almost did last year, which is winning. We have been able to do a lot of work during the test and I am convinced that the team is ready for it. It will be an interesting weekend, with the new regulations, which we will encounter for the first time.
