A1 Team France has recalled Nicolas Lapierre for this weekend's races in Brno, Czech Republic.

Lapierre, who was part of the team's 2005/06 championship-winning squad has not raced for the team since the Indonesian round last December, but did test at Silverstone during the summer.

Loic Duval, who was announced as the team's lead driver for the season has a previous commitment in Japan this weekend, and the team has elected to recall Lapierre. The 23-year-old finished third in the Sprint race at the circuit last season, and is expected to run at the front again this weekend.

A1 Team France advisor and former Formula One driver Olivier Panis said: 'We are very grateful to have Nicolas back this weekend. He has performed well for us in the past, and it would be superb if he marked his return by helping us to the top step of the podium.'

Nicolas Prost, son of four-time F1 world champion Alain, will be taking part in the rookie session for the team.

Duval will return to racing duties for the third round of the 2007/08 season A1GP in November in Malaysia.
