A1 Team New Zealand will head into this afternoon's qualifying session in the Czech Republic full of confidence after securing the fastest time in the final free practice session this morning.
Jonny Reid, who was on pole position in Brno last year, was quickest on a track that started off damp due to overnight rain, but slowly dried throughout the hour. Reid played down the significance of the performance however.
"It's a pleasing start but it's only second practice," Reid said. "It's a confidence booster, but we have still some problems that we need to solve before qualifying."
A1 Team Netherlands' Jeroen Bleekemolen secured the second-fastest time, just 0.4 seconds behind, with Adam Carroll performing well for A1 Team Ireland in third. Switzerland's Neel Jani was fourth quickest, beating France's Nicolas Lapierre into fifth.
Many teams opted to run on used tyres this morning to preserve new sets for this afternoon's qualifying session, and could feel their they will only show their true pace this afternoon.
