Picho Toledano, a driver who participated in the preseason testing for A1 Team Mexico expecting to join the Mexican Junior Team, over a week ago had an accident at the Ponce circuit, in Puerto Rico.
Due to this situation, A1 Team Mexico wishes him to get well and will dedicate their participation in the A1GP The World Cup of Motorsport in Malaysia this weekend.
"Picho is currently in Indianapolis and he underwent two surgeries. Last Wednesday was the first one due to he fractured his right foot and on Friday it was the second surgery on his left leg. From Malaysia, A1 Team Mexico and Michel Jourdain Jr. dedicate him their performance wishing him to get well soon. In addition, the car will show a decal supporting this great young up-and-coming Mexican driver," Julio Jauregui, Executive Vice President of A1 Team Mexico said.
"Also, we thank your donations for the surgeries to Banamex Bank account 14097, branch 755, under Guadalupe Toledano Perez name," he added.
On the other hand, Jauregui talked about this weekend's event: "Time flies quickly, we are already in the third season and this Sunday will be held our A1GP 50th race. The championship is better than ever and with the coming of Ferrari cars developed by Michael Schumacher in 2008, I feel very pleased with the development of the series. No doubt I feel very proud to participate in this international series with A1 Team Mexico."
Regarding Jourdain Jr. he added: "I think Michel's prior experience in formulas was the key to adapt himself quickly to the A1 car in Czech Republic and we hope that in Malaysia he will collect his first points representing Mexico, having in his thoughts his fellow countryman Picho Toledano."
