The Taupo Motorsport Park Management will be checking its circuit these days to make sure it has not been affected by the brace of earthquakes to hit Taupo in the past week.
An initial earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale was recorded at a depth of 120km near Taupo last Thursday, followed on Saturday by a jolt measuring 5.6 at a depth of 80km.
Taupo's Park managing director David Steele said the depth of the quakes should have prevented damage, but the track was still being carefully scrutinised before the A1 grand prix on January 18-20.
