A1 Team Canada is to stick with Robert Wickens as its race driver for the third consecutive meeting. The 18-year-old scored the team's only points finish on his A1GP debut in Sepang's Sprint race, and despite an unfortunate zero points haul in the next round at Zhuhai, the team is sticking with the Ontario driver.
This weekend's Taupo meeting means it is now a year since the squad scored points in both the Sprint and Feature races at the same meeting. 'I'm really excited to be racing in New Zealand,' said Wickens. 'We have to take advantage of running in the rookie session to maximize our track time. I know the layout's been modified a little since the previous A1GP visit but we've proved we can get up to speed pretty quickly.
'The team's been working hard over the break and our aim will be to maintain the pace we've shown previously in the earlier part of the weekend through to Sunday when it matters most.'
