Joao Urbano believes he has finally given A1 Team Portugal the lift it deserves after getting his best qualifying performance session in A1GP at Taupo today.
Urbano put his car sixth on the grid for the Feature race in Taupo tomorrow, the team's best starting position for 15 races.
The team has struggled so far this season, and has only scored two points, currently resting 17th in the championship standings. The team will start from 14th for the Sprint race. However, the sixth place on the grid has given the team cause for optimism tomorrow.
'This finally puts a smile on everyone's faces,' Urbano said. 'We made some changes in the car after the second qualifying and then the car was easily much better. The time came from that, we made good changes from that and we improved it.
'Our goal is still to finish in the points tomorrow. From sixth, if things go well, we will try to get top five and that is the main goal, but it is always difficult here.'
