Robbie Kerr has given his opinion on the incident which ruined A1 Team Great Britain's chances of scoring points in the Sprint race - and doesn't believe it was hit fault.
The USA's Jonathan Summerton refused to take the blame for the pair's coming together, which happened on the sixth lap of the race.
Kerr was alongside Summerton for the length of the back straight before the pair touched going into the tight Turn 12. Kerr got out of the car, although he eventually rejoined the races. 'I passed the car halfway through the previous corner, I was alongside him for the full length of the straight,' Kerr said. 'I was in a perfectly straight line. I believe I left him more than enough room on the outside.
'I was about to turn and I got hit from behind in my left sidepod. It sent me skywards. From my point of view, I had the corner and I gave him enough room.'
Great Britain's day got worse in the Feature race, with mechanical failure meaning the team left Taupo with zero points for the second season in succession.
