Netherlands looks for fresh start

Netherlands looks for fresh start

31 January 2008

After the adversity in Taupo A1 Team Netherlands is more motivated than ever to take revenge on the track at the Eastern Creek Circuit, situated in a suburb to the west of Sydney. With a complete car set up A1 Team Netherlands hopes to be amongst the front runners straight from the start.

Jeroen Bleekemolen commented, "After extensive discussions we are going to start the weekend with a complete new set up, which we never used before, including last year. We also used information of other teams with whom we cooperate for this. In Taupo we also discovered a problem with the car. We shouldn't suffer from this anymore and should be able to start a weekend well straight off, and be competitive."

Just like in Taupo, Arie Luyendyk jr hopes to get a good result during the Rookie session. "The circuit looks nice, fast and with a spectacular first corner which you take with at least 260 km/h. My result last weekend was good, hopefully I can repeat this. Especially now as we are running the new set up it is important to start off well during my sessions. I am looking forward to it. The weather is a bit turbulent, today it rained quite hard and there might be more rain coming over the weekend. And that first corner I will try to take flat. Just put the left foot on top of the right foot and push down. See what happens!"
