Switzerland clinches 2008 title

Switzerland clinched the A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motorsport championship by finishing fourth in the Sprint race at Brands Hatch today.

A1 Team New Zealand, the only team that could have overtaken Switzerland in the title standings, needed to finish at least second in the race to have a chance of keeping the title-race alive to the final race of the season this afternoon. However, Jonny Reid could only finish eighth.

It means that Switzerland now has unassailable points lead.
