Ireland's Adam Carroll drove a perfect race from pole position to take his country's second series victory in Chengdu, China. Holland's Robert Doornbos finished second ahead of Britain's Danny Watts who fended off a strong challenge from Neel Jani in fourth.
Carroll controlled the field from the start ahead of Doornbos, who mad a slight challenge in the first corner but never had any chance of getting through. Doornbos though had a good day at the wheel for the first time with the Dutch team to finish a confident second.
Danny Watts meanwhile passed Neel Jani around the outside to take third at the start. Jani responded and in the final stages was aggressively challenging, but Watts, on his debut held off the pressure to take third.
Adam Carroll commented, "It's brilliant. The guy's have worked so hard and were due the results and this year I think we are going to get what we deserve. I managed to get into turn one first and tried control it from there," said Ireland's Carroll. "Obviously, I knew Robert was going to be very quick and pushing extremely hard so I just kept my head down and tried not to make any mistakes, I know it's going to be a pretty long race this afternoon."
