Liuzzi fastest rookie on first day in Portugal
10 April 2009 / Results / PhotosVitantonio Liuzzi was the fastest rookie driver on Friday afternoon. The Italian, part of the Force India Formula 1 team, ended fourth in Friday's free practice session at the demanding new circuit just inland from Portimao.

"This is one of the nicest circuits that I have ever driven. I can see now why my friends who conducted F1 tests here last month were so impressed.
"Once you have driven F1, as I have, it's always easy to step down the power range. However, the A1GP car is nice to drive and A1 Team Italy gave me a good car set-up with which to learn the circuit. We are going in the right direction with it for qualifying tomorrow when there is much more to come from me and to come from the car."
