A three-time winner across the second and third A1GP World Cup of Motorsport seasons, A1 Team South Africa's Adrian Zaugg delivered his first strong result in the second generation A1GP Powered by Ferrari car.

Zaugg qualified fourth for Easter Sunday's Feature race at the Autodromo Internacional Algarve, putting the team back on track. "We haven't had any speed at all in the second generation A1GP car," Adrian explained to A1GP.com. "However, we made some major changes to the car overnight. It is just so much better today on this fantastic circuit and that was by far my best lap of the year."

His best lap of 1m30.984s, delivered in the final seconds of the fourth qualifying session, put him within 0.569s of A1 Team Netherlands' Feature race pole-sitter Robert Doornbos.

When it was pointed out that there is extra merit in this upturn of form as the 4.67km lap is one of the trickiest on the world stage, 22-year-old Adrian was suitably modest:

"It would be nice to say that it's mainly down to me, but all parts of the equation link together to form this result."
